Can someone help me with this topic?? Recently I have been interested in investigating on how historical and mythical information has shaped religion today, particularly Christianity. One important piece of information that I keep coming across is the sacred feminine. Can anyone break this down for someone who has never done research outside of the WTS publications?? You DON'T Have To Listen To The Elders If They Say They Want To Meet ....

everyone that is in the process of leaving dreads the thought of having the elders approach them, call them, etc.

the fact is----just because they say they want to meet with you or just because 2 elders stop by to visit you----you don't have to deal with them at all.

simply tell them you won't meet with them, you won't talk to them.

I totally agree with everyone that they hold no control over our lives. Some though are afraid of the consequences of the actions these men make. For instance, we can agree to not see them, but then they disfellowship us and that now affects our relationship with family and friends. Personally for me, its very touchy, because even though I dont recognize their authority, they still control my family.

my mother has been expressing to us how she reluctantly is beginning to see that the organization indeed has some problems.

she is starting to "feel" that things aren't right.

this past thursday, they gave a "marking" talk for my daughter who hasn't attended a meeting in years.

Its the part where they teach that JW are seperate from other faiths and religions, that they dont join them even in charitable causes...

Not really, I remember not knowing what Seperation of Faiths was, but I answered what the book said....

I was thinking about those questions not to long ago...its funny how its not a traditional test, the Society tells you what you should answer and encourages people to have their book with them...Just a thought

maybe its not america or its way of life as such that winds us foreigner whingers up .

maybe its not america that invaded iraq.

maybe its religion, the religious elemnet found in most western countries but to a much larger degree in the us.

My daughter and granddaughter.

this may be a bit long,,, sorry,.

my daughter t was born when i was a married witness,i was almost 21.she was a very sweet outgoing loving child.when she was 4 i had another daughter s .

lol this one was my challenge when she was little but is now such a joy to me.. anyway t began school at 5 and seemed to be doing well with school and her friends.. just about a month after she began 1st grade we had stopped to eat lunch while out in service.t suddenly made a strange noise she looked off into space with a strange stare and wouldnt respond to anything we said or did.i was in a panic by the time she began talking again and told us that she heard us but couldnt answer us at that point.demons?was my first thought but as i began to ask her about it then i began to feel she had had a small seizure.

I was so touched by your story. I will never be a witness again either, its a place where they teach to look down on those not like them. Im sorry you are going through this ordeal. Hopefully someday, your daughter will realize all you have done for her and be appreciative.
